We recently welcomed a truly exceptional guest into our workshop – a rhinoceros taken through what’s known as green hunting, a non-lethal form of wildlife pursuit. The successful hunter took part in a veterinary-led darting operation in South Africa, during which the animal was temporarily sedated for sample collection and a thorough health check.
Instead of a fatal shot, he brought home a living memory – a photograph from a close encounter with this iconic member of the Big Five. But of course, a photo alone wasn’t enough. That’s why we were asked to preserve the moment by creating an exact replica based on detailed measurements and reference images.
This approach combines the thrill of the hunt with respect for endangered species and a strong commitment to conservation.
