Our History
Our company was founded in 2024 through the merger of two renowned taxidermy businesses – Franc and Zugar. Both names had, over decades of operation, earned a strong reputation in the field of wildlife taxidermy. Their merger was not only a logical step but also a bold vision for the future. Our goal was to build a powerful company rooted in the tradition and experience of its founders, while responding to modern challenges in taxidermy and pushing the craft to a new level.
The Zugar company, established in 1991, specialized in dermoplastic taxidermy of trophy game, with a strong emphasis on anatomical accuracy and craftsmanship. Through its collaboration with museums and zoological gardens, it gained recognition as a specialist in fine-detail work and authentic reconstructions.
The Franc company operated on the market for over 35 years and gradually became one of the largest taxidermy workshops not only in the Czech Republic, but across Europe. Its 15-member team focused primarily on mounting ungulates and large predators from all over the world. In addition to taxidermy, the company also produced hunting furniture and interior installations for hunting lodges. Hunting tourism was an integral part of its business – organizing expeditions to Africa, Asia and South America. Thanks to many years of experience and a network of trusted partners, the company offered fully serviced hunting trips for demanding clients who returned repeatedly in search of new adventures.
The merger of these two brands brought together a team with not only vast experience but also a clear ambition to become a true leader in the field. Our goal is not just to preserve tradition, but to develop it further – bringing new techniques, innovations and top-tier quality into the world of taxidermy. We aim to maintain the highest standards while setting new trends in wildlife mounting – not only within the Czech Republic, but across Europe.
We specialize in the taxidermy of all animal groups – from mammals to birds, reptiles and fish. The majority of our work involves mammals, whether native European or exotic species. Each specimen is a unique original, requiring attention, expertise and respect. From majestic red deer of European forests to rare African antelopes – every trophy that passes through our hands tells its own story.
Thanks to decades of experience and the most advanced techniques, we are able to capture every detail with utmost precision, ensuring that the final mount stays true to life and preserves your memories for decades to come. We work exclusively with top-quality materials and use innovative methods that guarantee long-term durability and a natural appearance.
While we honour tradition and proven craftsmanship, we are constantly evolving. We follow the latest trends, collaborate with experts worldwide and strive to stay in motion – just like the natural world we portray. This blend of heritage and innovation is what makes us a trusted partner in taxidermy.
Hunting tourism continues to be an important part of our work. We are constantly developing it – introducing new destinations, refining our services and seeking extraordinary hunting experiences that meet the highest standards. Our passion for hunting and adventure drives us to offer our clients ever-new possibilities and unforgettable expeditions.
Radek Franc & Pavel Zugar
Our team
Behind every flawless mount stands a team of people who not only master their craft but truly love what they do. Our team is made up of dedicated professionals who give their all every day to ensure your trophies look so stunning—so lifelike they might just move at any moment. So who’s behind it all?
Pavel Zugar – Owner, Head Taxidermist
A walking encyclopaedia of taxidermy. If there’s an answer to something, Pavel knows it. Precise, uncompromising, and such a perfectionist he could find a flaw on a flawless mount. If you don’t know something, ask Pavel. And if he doesn’t know… well, then maybe nobody does.
Radek Franc – Owner, Traveler, and Hunting Guru
He’s on the road more often than at the office. And if you do catch him, he’ll likely be telling stories of hunting adventures from around the globe. If you’re looking for inspiration for your next expedition—one that ends with a perfect trophy—you’ve come to the right place. He’ll convince you every trip is worth it, and of course, no hunt is complete without a trophy.
Eva – Finance Minister and Lead Hunting Trip Strategist
She doesn’t just handle the numbers—she’s the mastermind behind smooth, perfectly executed expeditions. If you’re heading out on a hunt, chances are Eva’s already planned every detail, from logistics to itinerary. They say she can plan a trip before you’ve even packed your bag—and if anything’s missing during your travels, she probably knows before you do.
Simona – Customer Service, Assistant, and Trophy Logistics Manager
Simona is the brain of the operation. When you call us, it’s likely her voice you’ll hear first—and last—because she won’t hang up until she’s answered every question you have. She runs customer service like an air traffic controller, always knowing exactly where your trophy is and when it will be finished. She’s also an avid reader, so if you’re looking for a book as gripping as her organizational skills, Simona’s your go-to.
Ondra – Taxidermist, Forester, and Tech Enthusiast
Forests run in his blood, and taxidermy is in his heart. Ondra is the kind of person who understands trees just as well as he does the latest tech. Always searching for new ways to move taxidermy forward—be it tools, materials, or methods. Obsessed with innovation. When he’s not in the workshop or woods, you’ll find him playing team sports where he can put his drive and team spirit to work.
Janek – The Young Blood and the Future of the Company
The youngest member of the team, learning from the best. He studies hard so that once he finishes school, he can take the company to the next level. We believe he brings fresh perspective and relentless dedication to refining every detail. They say if someone’s going to revolutionize taxidermy in the future, it’ll be him.
Bibiána – Taxidermist and Artist
A perfect blend of precision and creativity—taxidermy is both her job and her passion. When she’s not working, she’s painting. And when she’s not painting, she’s probably thinking about what to mount next.
Iveta – Taxidermist and European Game Specialist
Our most experienced team member and an expert in European species. When she’s not working, she’s cooking—and they say her food is just as flawless as her mounts.
Zbyněk – Taxidermist and Winemaker
A seasoned taxidermist with 20 years of experience who can handle anything from a squirrel to an elephant. When he’s not mounting trophies, he’s tending to his vineyards or distilling. If you’re after someone who knows craftsmanship and good drink, he’s your guy.
Miroslava – Taxidermist and Stitching Master
Miroslava is not only a skilled taxidermist but also a wizard with needle and thread. When hides need reinforcement, her hands work with surgical precision. From badger to giraffe, every skin passes through her hands to get its perfect shape. When she’s not mounting, she’s probably sewing—be it hunting decor or just something for fun.
Lada – Taxidermist, Traveler, and Freedom Lover
Lada’s new to the team, but she fits in like she’s always been here. Precise, curious, and open to everything new—those traits make her a great taxidermist. When she’s not working, you’ll likely find her on a bike, under a tent, or out exploring. She loves nature, freedom, and anything that pulls you out of your comfort zone. Maybe that’s exactly what brought her to taxidermy.
Katka – Future Taxidermist and Queen of Terrariums
She waited six years for this opportunity – and now she’s finally here. The newest member of our team, Katka jumped into the world of taxidermy with enthusiasm and is learning from the best. Off the clock, she reigns over a kingdom of terrariums: at home, things crawl, slither, and scuttle – from snakes and lizards to spiders and crabs. Think nothing can surprise you? Just wait until Katka starts talking about her pets. She’s got a steady hand, a sharp eye, and a clear goal – to become a top-level taxidermist. And we have no doubt she’ll get there.
Henrieta – An Artist and Zoologist in One
Henrieta brings science and art together in a way that gives her work both a solid foundation and a distinctive character. She studied General Zoology as well as Evolutionary and Ecological Biology, so for her, every animal is more than just a name on a label – it is a story of evolution, adaptation, and relationships within the landscape. For Henrieta, taxidermy is not a change of field, but a natural continuation of her academic path in a different form. Her painter’s eye allows her to notice details that others might overlook. Colour, structure, proportions, and expression must make sense not only anatomically, but aesthetically as well. Although she is new to the profession, her sensitivity and academic background suggest that you will be hearing much more about her in the future.
Hanka – Finishing and Final Magic Touches
Hanka is the one who brings mounts to life. The final brushstroke, perfectly groomed fur—every detail is safe in her hands. She’s also a talented illustrator and a healthy lifestyle enthusiast. She might give you advice on mounts… or on nutrition.
Zdeňka – Finishing, Perfectionist, and Nature Lover
Zdeňka polishes every mount to perfection while also tending to her own little kingdom— a small farm full of goats, sheep, and pure joy. Perfectionist at work, animal lover in her free time.
Soňa – Skin Prep and Historical Warrior
When she’s not working with hides, she’s likely wielding a sword in historical reenactments. Nicknamed “the Meerkat,” she’s fierce when it comes to hide preparation, and thanks to her, your trophy will last for decades—something we can only dream of.
Honza – New Skin Prep Specialist
The newest team member, still a man of few words—but his work speaks volumes. Meticulous, focused, and with a keen eye for detail. His hands are already earning the trust of our seasoned professionals. It’ll be exciting to see where he goes from here.
Petr – Skull Whitening, Base and Pedestal Maker
Quiet but irreplaceable. If taxidermy were a film, Petr would be the guy behind the camera and special effects. Every skull, model, and pedestal he touches turns into a masterpiece.

Our Values
For us, taxidermy is not just a job—it’s an art form that demands precision, respect, and an eye for detail. Every mount that passes through our hands is both a tribute to the living animal and a preservation of a story that deserves to be remembered. Our work reflects several core values that we hold above all.
Respect for Nature and Wildlife
Every animal deserves respect—and that begins with humility in the face of its uniqueness. Each specimen is treated with expert care, deep reverence, and a process that honors its character and beauty.
Master Craftsmanship and Precision
Tradition, experience, and flawless technique form the foundation of our work. Every detail is executed with maximum care to ensure the result appears natural, lifelike, and true.
Individual Approach
Every trophy has its own story, and every client has their vision. We believe that an outstanding result is born not only in the workshop but also through listening, communication, and mutual understanding.
Durability and Quality
We use modern materials and time-tested techniques to ensure our work lasts for decades—and remains just as captivating as the day it left our workshop.
Ethical Conduct and Legal Compliance
We work exclusively with wildlife that has been legally sourced. When handling species protected by local laws or international CITES regulations, we ensure all legal requirements are strictly followed. Our work goes hand in hand with nature conservation.
We Do Not Work with Pets
We understand that pets are family—and their loss is deeply felt. For ethical reasons, we specialize exclusively in wild game. We believe that animals who shared our homes deserve to be honored in other ways.
Hygiene, Safety, and Health Protection
We maintain the highest standards of hygiene and strictly comply with all veterinary and safety regulations. When working with biological materials, we ensure a safe environment for both our team and our clients. Our goal is perfection—but never at the expense of health and safety.
These are the values we build upon.
Every mount we create is more than a product. It is a legacy. A source of well-earned pride. And proof that when skill meets heart, something truly lasting can be born.
Quality Policy
Quality is not just about the final result—it’s about the entire process. Our goal is to deliver taxidermy work at the highest level, meeting both aesthetic and biological standards, as well as ensuring long-term durability and authenticity. Our quality policy is built on several key principles:
Precision and Craftsmanship
Each mount is the result of careful, expert work. Every detail—from a lifelike expression to the perfect placement of fur—is executed to meet the highest standards.
Quality Control at Every Stage
From the initial consultation to the final handover, every mount undergoes strict quality checks. We monitor the quality of raw materials, the precision of the process, and all final touches to ensure every piece meets our high expectations.
Use of Premium Materials
We work exclusively with tested materials from trusted suppliers. From preservation chemicals to anatomical forms, we focus on quality and longevity in every component.
Compliance with Veterinary and Hygiene Regulations
When working with biological materials, we comply with all legislative requirements and maintain a high level of hygiene throughout our workshop. Our facility meets the strictest veterinary standards, ensuring safety for both our employees and clients.
Tailored Approach to Every Project
Every mount is unique, and so is our approach. We work closely with clients to ensure the final result reflects their expectations and captures the unique character of each animal.
Professional Growth and Innovation
Quality is never static—we continually educate ourselves, explore new technologies, and refine our skills. We regularly attend professional training and collaborate with leading taxidermy experts.
Our quality policy is a commitment.
Every mount leaving our workshop must meet the highest demands for beauty, durability, and faithfulness to nature.
Our Environmental Policy
Our work is closely connected to nature, which is why environmental protection is one of our top priorities. We strive to minimize our ecological footprint and strictly comply with all applicable regulations regarding operational hygiene, the safe use of chemicals, and veterinary standards. Our environmental policy is based on the following principles:
Strict Hygiene Standards
Our workshop operates in accordance with rigorous hygiene and veterinary regulations. We regularly disinfect work areas and tools to minimize contamination risks and maintain a safe environment for both our employees and clients.
Use of Approved and Eco-Friendly Chemicals
We only use chemicals that are officially approved for taxidermy use. We prefer products with lower environmental impact and strictly adhere to safe handling and disposal procedures in line with current regulations.
Responsible Disposal of Biological Waste
All biological material is disposed of in a responsible manner, fully compliant with veterinary and environmental norms. We work with certified partners to ensure environmentally sound disposal, and all animal by-products are carefully monitored and documented.
Regular Inspections by the State Veterinary Administration
Our facility undergoes regular inspections by the State Veterinary Administration, at least twice a year. These inspections focus on hygiene and veterinary compliance, proper handling of biological materials, and oversight of the entire processing workflow.
Minimizing Consumption and Promoting Recycling
We actively seek to reduce material and energy consumption by optimizing our processes. Wherever possible, we use recyclable packaging and continuously look for ways to use resources more efficiently and avoid unnecessary waste.
Compliance with Veterinary and Safety Regulations
Our employees receive ongoing training in workplace safety and the proper handling of chemical and organic materials. We operate in full compliance with current legislation and maintain safe working conditions at every stage of the process.
Our environmental principles are not just part of our work—they reflect our core values.
We believe that a responsible approach to nature and strict safety practices not only protect the environment but also enhance the quality of our mounts and the well-being of our team.
Our Commitment to Education and Outreach
Taxidermy is not just a craft – it’s a field that deserves continuous development, education, and the passing of knowledge to future generations. Alongside our daily work, we actively support students, professionals, and the general public. Our mission is to ensure that the art of taxidermy not only survives but evolves and becomes more widely understood and appreciated.
Support for Students and Internships
We offer opportunities for university students of taxidermy to complete internships and gain hands-on experience in our workshop. Under the guidance of seasoned professionals, they learn modern techniques and gain invaluable insight into real-world practice.
Tours and Educational Programs
Our workshop is open not only to students but also to anyone interested in the world of taxidermy. We organize guided tours that offer a behind-the-scenes look at our work and reveal what lies behind the results seen in museums, private collections, or zoos.
Lectures and Professional Events
We believe that education is key to understanding and respecting taxidermy as a discipline. That’s why we regularly take part in professional events and give lectures at schools, hunting associations, and other organizations, sharing our knowledge and experience.
Consultations for Zoos and Experts
We also collaborate with zoological gardens, providing expert consultations on the preservation of rare and endangered species. These taxidermy pieces are used not only to preserve unique specimens but also to educate visitors and support scientific research.
Our work goes beyond the commercial – it is a commitment to the future of the field. We believe that supporting new talent and sharing knowledge helps shape the modern face of taxidermy and preserve its value for generations to come.
